Angels Creek Open – Please Use Caution

The City Administrator offered to City Council that staff would do a new gas reading and water sampling, specifically for H2S. If it comes back negative, City Council gave directions to re-open the creek without waiting for the report from the State.

Gas testing was conducted, and there is no detectable H2S. Water samples have also been sent to the lab, and we are still awaiting results.

While there may be no detectable H2S, the state has still not presented its findings, and with the significant snowmelt runoff, caution should still be taken. Avoid consuming fish from the creek, wear a life jacket, and pay attention to any changes in flow, color, or smell.

The State Water Quality Control Board has conducted water testing (4/21/23). The City has still not received the results or recommendations from them.
