The City is focused on Economic Development, which includes the retention of existing businesses and the attraction of new ones. We are always working on updating planning documents, working with applicants to succeed, and identifying programs and policies that help support our business climate.
Recent Economic Programs are:
Hop N’ Shop program which is dedicated to consumers to shop at our local Angels Camp businesses
Utica park Expansion, while a park expansion may not seem like a direct Economic Developer project, this park will be a regional park, creating a draw from all over the county, state, and country. This in turn means more visitors that want to eat and shop!
Wayfinding Signs is a project in the works that will help visitors find us. These signs are grant funded and will work to push traffic to our shopping areas.
Angels Creek Trail is a project that will allow visitors a scenic bike and pedestrian trail from Vallecito Road to Utica Park and then to New Melones Lake.
Caltrans SHOPP Bike and Pedestrian project along Highway 49 will revolutionize our way around town to Utica Park.
